Ginger Has It All

It's been a while since I've posted, and when I was using my Brazened Honey Face Mask from LUSH, I was inspired to confess my love about Ginger. (One of it's main ingredients.)

Ginger has been a skin life saver for me, and there's many reasons why! First and foremost, ginger is a great natural antiseptic because it contains zingiberene, a wonderful bacteria killing enzyme. So for all you acne sufferers that are looking for a natural alternative to Salicylic Acid, this is a great one! I also love it because it's extremely anti-inflammatory so it's great for soothing any redness that comes with breakouts. (or other skin types)

Ginger doesn't just cater to acneic skin types, it's great for aging too. It contains gingerol, a powerful antioxidant, to fight off free radicals in the air/food/sun that's around us everyday that contribute to aging. Gingerol also has great skin smoothing properties to help diminish any fine lines and wrinkles. It's also warming so it's great for increasing circulation and getting blood flow to the skin, which is also important in the aging process. It's an awesome ingredient to use in body scrubs or treatments because it's warming circulatory properties are great for fighting cellulite! It's also known for pulling toxins from the body, which is cellulites main component.

I love the ginger in Brazened Honey mask from LUSH because it warms the skin, which means it opens up my pores, which means all the wonderful ingredients from the mask can penetrate a lot easier!

Ginger is also a great ingredient to use in massage oils. It's warming nature is great for loosening up sore muscles and the scent is very therapeutic for the mind. The Hottie Massage Bar from LUSH has lots of ginger and black pepper for that very reason!

So there you have it, yet again another amazing natural skin care ingredient that caters to almost all skin types!

Massage oil good for the skin, soul, scars, and stretch marks!!

Everybody needs time to unwind and quiet their mind. A nice body massage always does the trick, and i've found massage bars to be an excellent way to do so! (and taking care of your skin at the same time of course)

Massage bars are a product of LUSH, and are used for massage purposes or a solid body lotion for the rough and tuff spots on your skin. They are in a shea and cocoa butter base so they melt on contact with the skin. They differ from other massage oils because they are all natural and non-comedogenic (doesn't clog pores) They also are solid and self preserving! Which means no packaging, and our environment loves that. They're a great way to massage and get all loosened up, and soften the skin at the same time.

I want to focus specifically on the Therapy Massage Bar at LUSH. This unique bar is loaded with lavender, neroli, and sweet orange oil to create the most relaxing smell. (Almost good enough to eat!) I recommend this bar to women with pregnant bellies that need some extra TLC to moisturize and prevent stretch marks. Neroli is known for strengthening the elasticity of the skin, therefore reducing the risk of stretch marks! The cocoa and shea butters keep the skin incredibly moist and supple and the smell gives a nice therapeutic effect  for stressed out minds. You can even apply this bar on stretch marks that have already made their mark to lighten them up a bit! (Sorry ladies and gents, nothing topical will ever get rid of stretch marks, but you can sure lighten them up!)

So for all of you with stressed out minds or skin in need of some extra love, you've got to try this one!
